With over 125 programs, services and events YWCA Greenwich sometimes has need of volunteers.  If you have interest in any of the areas mentioned below, please make contact as indicated.

The YWCA produces some of the best attended, most prestigious and successful events in the Greenwich community. To read about them, visit the events pages listed in our main menu.

Join an Event Committee. Meet old friends…make new friends…and get right in the middle of the action. We always have room for another good thinker, planner and doer.  Our Persimmon Ball, for instance, featured 11 Chairs of various committees as well as 36 Committee Members

Domestic Abuse Services

The YWCA is the sole licensed provider of domestic abuse services in Greenwich, and, as such, provides a wide range of free services to victims, including answering thousands of Hot Line and crisis calls annually.

You can make a difference in the lives of domestic violence victims and their families by providing friendship…transporting and accompanying women to court and social service agencies…assisting with administrative tasks…being a “buddy” to children whose Mothers are in counseling…and being a voice on the Hotline phone.

DAS volunteers are staff-supervised,  must receive 20 hours of training and attend in-service workshops. The next training class is scheduled for September 2016.
