YWCA Greenwich will host “Parenting through the Opioid Crisis and Beyond” on March 18 at 6:30 p.m.
The Greenwich United Way organized the event, presented by The Courage to Speak foundation. Ginger Katz, the CEO and founder of The Courage to Speak Foundation, started the organization to foster open communication about preventing alcohol and drug abuse among young people after her son Ian died from a drug overdose. Katz is partnering with Carlos Reinoso Jr., who is trained in substance abuse and addiction, to address topics such as effective communication with children around drugs, teaching them how to refuse substances and how to cope, knowing the signs of drug use and the influence of marijuana and opioids.
Light refreshments will be provided. The talk is free and open to the public. YWCA Greenwich is located at 259 E. Putnam Ave.
