Standing with Tree of Life Synagogue and Vigil Today

Statement from Mary Lee A. Kiernan:  Dear friends, I am writing to you regarding the senseless, anti-Semitic, heartbreaking violence that took place yesterday at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

YWCA Greenwich sends love, support and condolences to the families of the victims and those who are injured, as well as to the Jewish community of greater Greenwich.

YWCA Greenwich condemns anti-Semitism and bigotry in all its forms. Yesterday was a stark reminder that we must stay vigilant in our rejection of all forms of violence and hate.  We stand ready to continue the ongoing conversation about hate that we must have on a regular basis to keep our community inclusive and strong.

Please join the community vigil that will take place this afternoon at 4 pm on the front lawn of Congregation Agudath Sholom, at 301 Strawberry Hill Avenue in Stamford, where we will stand with UJA-JCC Greenwich, UJF Stamford, ADL of Connecticut, Stamford JCC and area synagogues.

Sincerely,

Mary Lee A. Kiernan
